Just a beautifully crafted bowl. Cherry burl wood is very difficult to find and so this lovely bowl is very special. Certainly considered a collectors item and very unique. Beautifully made sustainable product by expert craftsman.
Handmade out of upcycled wood, all products are food safe. Hand wash only.
Since each bowl is created from a different piece of wood, all are different in look. Although size is the same, the burl is different depending on the individual log it came out of. Each is carefully handcrafted from New England, USA.

These bowls are very special, unique and rare. Cherry burl is becoming one of the more difficult wood to find. When we do find a unique upcycled cherry log, we futher keep it for sometimes years to be sure it is ready for crafting. They are artisan quality and can be used either for everyday but seriously beautiful enough for display. It is the kind of art that people will notice. It is perfect of an organic modern design aesthetic as well as for any other decor.
The expertise in creating these bowls provide some amazing alternatives to your standard wooden bowls and accessories – each piece crafted has its own story. All bowls are created from local woods from in central New England: the Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont forests are a rich resource. Normally, company's want to get rid of, chip up, or make firewood of logs with any decay – and that’s where the artisan come in. They actually embrace decomposing wood because that decomposition gives each wood bowls a distinctive character. They are created by upcycling – taking logs that normally are discarded, and making something beautiful out of them. When the artisan gets hold of a burled piece of cherry log with just the right character, they can make wonderful things happen on the lathe. Not one bowl will be the same as the next. It all really just depends on the grain of the wood and decomposition. This is a sustainable product, organic in nature and will last a lifetime.
