My Easter Table - Sophisticated for Adults And Fun For Children

If you are hosting an event or holiday that will bring children to your table, you don’t have to sacrifice elegance for fun.
This is an Easter table filled with humor and special treats for the kids yet sophisticated enough for adults who have a flair for elegance.
First things first. When you have children coming at Easter there is excitement and joy in their eyes. I always create little Easter baskets filled with treats and fun things to play with beforehand and then greet them at the door with THEIR baskets in hand. It excites them and keeps them busy as the adults come together to have a festive cocktail before dinner.
Depending on the weather, I will at times do an Easter egg hunt before dinner. This also entertains the kids while the adults are having a bit of downtime.

This is a tablescape I created for Easter. I love having the opportunity to decorate for both adults and children.
All around the table there were sparkles of gold and the glow of candlelight, but the dishes of jellybeans, chocolates and peeps were the center of EVERYONE'S attention.
I had bird nests filled with chocolate and jellybeans along with peeps just sitting on a pretty little bowl for all to see…and yes eat. Take one please!
On each of the place settings sat a chocolate bunny wrapped in gold foil for each of my guests. Some ate them before the meal and other waited until the meal was completed. No, wait..I think I saw some eating them during the meal!
Floral Decor
Beautiful spring flowers adorned the table. I created these centerpieces with lovely hydrangeas and different hues of roses to represent a beautiful spring Easter day.
The gold details in the vase, votives and chargers were really so elegant against the spring flowers and made for a tranquil yet festive table setting.
BUT…oh but… on this day, the children received a special treat; an Easter bunny plate to eat dinner on. I purchased these small square bunny plates at Home Goods and they were very inexpensive. The children were delighted and felt special.
Once they were done eating, I cleaned each plate and sent them home with the children along with their special little Easter basket to remember our special day.
The thing is….when you have children at your table, you can get creative and make it fun for them. I assure you, the parents are so very happy to see you take that extra special care to welcome their beautiful child into your home. It is remembered fondly and warms the heart.
