Easter Table Setting Using Everyday Portmeirion Botanic Garden Dishes
With Easter right around the corner and the need to continue social distancing, I wanted to show a simple place setting using my everyday dishes.
I have owned these Portmeirion Botanical Garden dishes for years and I still love them. Each dish is different with a botanical view of a beautiful garden scene in the center of the dish, making each unique.
Today, Iβm using a lilac flower, to show you a simple way to design a place setting for Easter.
Iβve used some simple white vintage linen napkins and tied them in the center with a matching ribbon. The ribbon is a variation of the purple hues in the lilac. I also added a flower stem that adds to the color scheme.
For those who do not want to venture out of your home to buy flowers, you can use either dried or silk flowers to incorporate color and texture into your tablesetting. Here I added dried roses and put them in a few simple mercury glass votives. I added them to the center of the table for a centerpiece. Use what you have at home. Try to incorporate the colors in your dishes to the centerpiece. The idea is to gather the colors and bring them to different areas of your tablescape.
I added pretty light purple drinking glasses that go well with the lilacs in my dishes. I then added little light green glass bunnies just to give my place setting more interest and contrast.
Since I do have some real flowers, I also added a simple leaf and put it in the center of my napkin under the ribbon. If you have artificial leaves, you can certainly use them as well. Use what you have.
I chose different hues of purple flowers and added white tulips for my centerpiece.
Gorgeous spring lilies and tulips are perfect for an Easter tablesetting. Go outside and pick some if you have them blooming in your garden. Right now in New England we have hyacinth, daffodils, crocus and forsythia blooming.
βWhere flowers bloom, so does hopeβ
The thing isβ¦while we are choosing to stay home due to social distancing, using what you have at home for your Easter celebration makes perfect sense. You can use either dried, artifical or real flowers to decorate your table along with your everyday dishes. If you have more decorative china, use that! Just because you are home doesnβt mean you canβt have an elegant table. If you tie the colors together it all works out in the end. A pop of color is always good in my book!
