Every name carries meaning. For me, Merze is more than a name. It is memory, imagination, heritage, and love woven together.
When I founded Merze Lifestyle, I wanted a personal yet catchy name that carried my heart and history. I chose Merze because it began with my daughter. As a little girl, her imagination was boundless. She created three make-believe friends: Merze, Girl Dale, and Rosy Boo Collar. They filled her days with laughter, storytelling, and wonder. Always twirling, singing, and ready for another adventure in a child’s make-believe world. To me, they became a window into her spirit. The name Merze stayed with me, carrying a softness and mystery that reminded me of her creativity, joy, and how she taught me to see life with new eyes.
Provence and Heritage
Merze also connects me to my French heritage. My mother, Claire, carried forward the traditions of her Breton ancestors, filling our home with culture, warmth, and grace. Both my parents descended from families who had migrated from France to Canada in the 1600s, and we always celebrated that heritage. The language, the food, and the gatherings were woven into the fabric of our lives, reminding us of where we came from and grounding us in something larger than ourselves.
Years later, when I visited France for the first time, I was unprepared for how it would move me. It was an unmistakable feeling of coming home, like I had been there before. It was not something I could explain in words, but something I felt deeply in my soul. The lavender fields, the worn stone walls, the warmth of the people all felt like a knowing, a recognition that I belonged. That moment became one of the most profound influences on Merze Lifestyle, because it was not just about beauty. It was about belonging, memory, and soul.

More Than a Brand: A Lifestyle
Together, these two inspirations, my daughter’s imagination and my family’s heritage, gave life to Merze Lifestyle. What began as a child’s story grew into a philosophy of living: curated living with French soul.
However, Merze Lifestyle is not only about tablescapes and interiors. It is about women in every role we carry.
For many years, I built a career in corporate environments, advising executives and leading complex projects that required focus, resilience, and accountability. It was meaningful and demanding, and like many women, I was holding more than what could be seen, balancing work, home, and the quiet expectations that live in between.
Over time, I began to understand something more deeply. That, alongside all we carry, there is another part of our lives that is often set aside, the inner life where creativity, reflection, and a sense of self quietly live. It is easy to lose sight of that space, yet it is often what restores us.
That understanding shaped how I see Merze today. Not as an escape from life, but as something that exists within it, a place where beauty, home, and everyday moments can help us return to ourselves.
I also believe, in a quiet and steady way, that women move forward together. There is a natural understanding between us, a shared experience that does not need to be spoken loudly to be felt. Merze is meant to hold space for that, where women can feel a sense of recognition, connection, and ease.

Merze Lifestyle is also a reminder to stay authentic to your hopes and dreams, and to hold onto creativity to balance life's demands. It is about living fully — making space for imagination and beauty even amid responsibility.

I’ve held onto this image of my daughter for many years, though she is now grown and living her own life. It was never meant to be perfect, and that is why it remains so special to me. Blurred and unexpected, it captures her spirit and imagination, and in many ways, it has come to embody the heart of Merze.
Life is rarely sharp around the edges. The moments that stay with us are often the blurred ones, the unexpected ones, the ones that remind us what is real.
Merze was born from that same truth. It is about finding beauty in what is imperfect, seeking rest and comfort in a world that moves quickly, and always having a safe harbor to return to. A place where imagination has space to breathe, and where the everyday becomes quietly extraordinary.
For me, Merze reminds me that beauty is meant to be lived. And just like my daughter taught me, the smallest gestures, a shared meal or a quiet pause, can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.
